Boston Area Age Play Munch

TL;DR: Munch is back to being physical, but outdoors. Same time, new location. Vaccinated, masked people only. See below for details.

Dear friends,
We are pleased to announce that after over a year of virtual munches, we are getting ready to resume the Boston Area Age-Play Munch – in person! Many things have changed over the course of this past year, not the least is that our location of over 10 years, Bertucci’s at Alewife, has closed doors permanently.
In seeking to replace our old meeting grounds, we have tried to find a place where we have delicious, affordable food options, accessibility by both T and car, and plenty of (free) parking. We have selected the recently developed Assembly Row area for all these reasons.

In keeping with current best practices, our munches for the time being will be limited to outdoors only. We have found a great open air location in the park by the river at the northern part of Assembly Row, with plenty of open seating, nice views and space. We should be able to continue using this space until the colder weather kicks in later this year, at which point we can re-evaluate the best options for meeting, based on the latest recommendations at that time.
There’s a lot of food options in the area, including a JP Licks ice cream! Assembly has its own T stop on the Orange line, and we will be meeting about a five minute walk from the stop to the park.  There’s free uncovered parking nearby, as well as free covered parking (up to 3 hours) in the garages (https://www.assemblyparking.com). We hope that this location is agreeable to all and has a little something for everyone.

In order to keep everyone safe, we are asking that at this time only vaccinated people attend the munch and keep some level of social distancing. We will not be checking cards, but please refrain from attending if you are not yet completely vaccinated – not just for you, but for those around you, including those who may not be able to get vaccinated due to health reasons. Along those same lines, if you have health issues that prevent you from getting a vaccination, please decide for yourself, given the above information, whether attending a group event with a number of people is appropriate for you.

We will also be asking that attendees remain masked except when consuming food or beverages. We are aware of the current, latest CDC guidelines regarding outdoor meetings, but want everyone to feel safe and comfortable and being extra careful is one way to achieve that. We can discuss and revisit these in future meetings.

Munch details:
Dress code: vanilla, with masks.
Time: the munch will be held at the usual time, the first Monday of the month, at 7PM. If the weather turns inclement, we will post letting people know by 5:30pm that day, and will move things virtually.  IN ADDITION, we will also still attempt to meet in person, just the following Monday – so there is both an in person rain date as well as virtual one!
Place: Our new location is on Sylvester Baxter Riverfront Park in Assembly Square, Somerville, MA, right across from Earl’s Kitchen and Tony C’s.

Food: Lots of good choices all around! We would recommend coming 15-30 minutes early to walk around and find something tasty, and bringing it to the park.
Thank you very much for bearing with us all during this terrible pandemic, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future!
